MakeupLoveer Contest entry

When thinking of summer I think of..the sky. I took this picture over my house..the sky was so blue and the reason the ball of clouds look so bright is because the sun is behind them :) Waking up in the morning and seeing a few white clouds alongside the piercing blue sky and the sun peeping through makes me happy :)
This is what I did to try an represent it. I'm so sorry the pictures looks rubbish I've tried so many times to try and get them looking good but I don't think it's going to happen and if I attempt again the date will run out :( Also, I'm looking awful!
I used Blues for the sky, White for clouds and Yellow for sun :)

This is what I used:
Vital Radiance Primer
Sleek CHAOS557 Palette
Sleek ORIGINAL 594 palette
Collection 2000 Dazzle Me! in Bedazzle 8
2True twist 'n' Line Eye Definer in White
Everything else was kept really neutral and summery like :)

What I did:
Firstly primed the eye to the brow bone. I then applied the light blue shade from CHAOS across half of the lid focusing the colour on the outer corner and blending inward. Then I applied the light blue from ORIGINAL, they look quite similar but it has the most gorgeous sheen to it. Again blending inwards with the main focus on the outer corner. Then applied a little of the dark blue into the crease to add some definition and shape. I applied the white eyeliner into the inner corner and smudged it upwards into the light shades of blue. Then, using the white from the CHAOS palette I blended out any harsh edges and used it to the brow bone. Lastly, I used Collection 2000 Dazzle Me! in Bedazzle 8 under the eye. I wanted this to be used for the sun and I wasn't sure if it worked but it really made the blues stand out :) I wouldn't usually go for blues but I was really pleased with how it turned out and how it looked against my skin.

Thanks for a great contest Louise, good luck everyone :)

Wet ‘n’ Wild..

..in TESCO!? I spotted these last week, there wasn't a massive selection but all price labels were there making it look like there will be a much bigger selection is soon. Has anyone else seen Wet ‘n’ Wild in their TESCO? Is there anything worth trying?

Mini haul :)

Last weekend me and a colleague noticed that our work were stocking Burt's Bees and we honestly couldn't believe it! On Saturday we got into work and it had been reduced by 30% already! I didn't go too mad as on Thursday I may be able to get another 40% off but I got these two :)

Sorry the pictures not great but I got the Lemon-Lime Lip Gloss and Beeswax Lip Balm. I also got a Natural Collection lipstick in Apple Blossom which has snuck into the picture :) I haven't looked at this stand since I was about 10 but it was recommended to me and at £1.95 you can't go wrong and I've fallen in love with it :)!
I got the whole bunch for £6.42 so all in all another guilt free purchase :D

A review; Rimmel Sexy Curve mascara

I have mentioned my initial thoughts of this mascara a few days ago but tonight as I wasn't doing anything decided to take off all my makeup and give this mascara a fair chance. I curled both eyes and then applied the mascara to my left lashes.
Below I applied one coat of Rimmel and left the right eye bare. [How wonky does my face look!?]

,

Next, I applied a different mascara onto the left eye. This mascara, in my opinion appears to be exactly the same minus the brush.

See what I'm saying? Well the mascara on the right is Natural Collection LashDefinition and cost the ridiculous price of £1.99. If anything, the Natural Collection is better as it applies a lot quicker and is less 'runny'.

Lastly, I applied the Rimmel on top of the Natural Collection and right and left the left eye with one coat of the Rimmel. Here's what it looks like:

There wasn't a massive difference with an extra coat therefore being able to build this mascara up to get a dramatic look that I go for could be time consuming and very, very frustrating.

All in all I wouldn't say I hated this mascara but I couldn't say that I particularly like it either. Being able to apply more mascara is an essential for me as I'm not one for the natural eye look but this mascara only seems to work well with one coat. As I write this, every time I blink my eyelashes seem to stick together. [It's getting rather annoying now!] As I said, this mascara seems to be an exact copy of the Natural Collection which retails at a fraction of the price. The brush is meant to be a unique selling point of the mascara, and yes it is different but personally I didn't find it made much of a difference. Plus, if you look at Fairy Drops mascara you will realise that this is just a copy. There is volume in my lashes but honestly I think that's due to my curler. The packaging is cute; being purple and metallic makes it looks nice but not enough for me to purchase this mascara again. I won't throw this out as I did get it for free and I could wear it by the pool on holiday as it is so natural. If you're going for a really natural look this mascara may work for you, but honestly I don't think the price is worth it.

Rimmel sexy curves..a review [& story!]

RIMMEL SEXY CURVES MASCARA
Full volume & Curve Mascara.
RRP £7.99

''70% more curl full of voluptuous volume, your smouldering eyes will be the envy of every girl in town.''

On Friday morning it took me ages to put my mascara on because there was hardly anything on my brush..now I have a massive basket full of mascara but I never seem to finish one so I decided I would not buy one until I finished the others. However, due to the amount of time it took me to put it on on Friday morning I decided I was in desperate need of a new one. So, on Friday evening I went out to get one but the till had about 3 people in with trolleys full of stuff and I really couldn't be bothered to wait 20 minutes. Earlier on in the day my friend said she'd tried a mascara but it hadn't worked for her so I went and collected that instead of waiting. She had only used it twice but realised that she was allergic when her eyes streamed after putting it on so she gave it me :)! However, I was a little worried because I have the most sensitive eyes ever..I used it on Saturday morning and my first impression wasn't good. I was disappointed that it took me so long to put a layer on due to the fact it was so runny. My eyes didn't react to it though so that was good. I have only used it once and I will be giving it another go to enable me to review it properly but this is my first impression on this mascara.
